Today I found a great quote:

"It may be that our role on this planet is not to worship God, but to create him."
-Arthur C. Clarke

I've been thinking a lot about death. I don't know why. I've actually been planning my funeral. I wrote copious notes that are saved on a drive at work, which does absolutely no good as no one will have access to them there.

Gloria is here for a summer visit. She turned 80 last week. Today we went to eat lunch at Red Lobster. I'm still really sad about Abby's baby, Carlie.

Viva Brazos Bravo

Last night we attended the 2008 Brazos Bravo award ceremony at the University Club on campus. Sam, Rachel, Kathy, James, Sharon, Jason and Janet all sat at our table. We won four Brazos Bravo awards for our publications, videos, magazine, etc. It was nice to get some recognition for so many hours of work and concentration, and even passion. Even if we did have to pay for it!

The pope is here! "That was an awesome speech, Your Holiness!" (Bush)

Paul Revere is coming for the weekend!

Perpetuity on the World Wide Web

Finally, Sondra blogs. I have a degree in journalism. I have worked as a writer and editor for years. Why then is it so difficult for me to blog? I'm not so sure that I want my thoughts to be public. But then again, who cares? The attraction to me is that I can always write in my virtual journal wherever I am. No paper. Just ones and zeroes. Forever? Who can say. What happens when the World Wide Web goes away? What comes next? Will they have to transfer all this data to the next "thing." What will it be called? If nothing else, perhaps, when I'm long gone, someone related to me might find my blog and read about my life. Maybe Quentin will be reading this some day? Engage.
